Hip Hop Please Stop!

I am not a fan of T25. I hate jumping and there is so much jumping in the workouts. Why does Shaun T feel the need to make everyone do hip hop abs when all we want is a good cardio workout...with our feet on the ground?! Ugh! Well I will stick with it, through rain or shine.  I need to lose weight.

On that note, I exercised for 25 minutes with the man of my dreams (my husband-duh! I was not talking about Shaun T!).  We are not coordinated enough for the hopping good time, but we swung it in our own way.  You just gotta keep moving!

Today has been a decent eating day so far.  I think I went a little overboard with the chips at lunch, though.

Breakfast:  Cheerios, milk, and a banana

Lunch: Turkey Sammy and a small bag of Sun Chips (and Diet Pepsi! Can't forget the yummy diet goodness)

Now if I don't break down and go buy a candy bar!! Or an iced coffee. OMG!

I am cooking chicken in the crockpot for two (hopefully) delish meals coming up in the next few days. Recipes to come!

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass ... Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.

Measurements and Tortellini

As I said, the next posting I will share my measurements with the internet world. Here is the real me:

Chest-    44 inches
Waist -   44 inches
Arms-     13.5 inches
Thighs-   23.5 inches

Yeah, there's nothing like looking down, knowing you are seeing your boobs and your waist as one big lump.  Gotta work on that!!

Dinner was pretty good. I made a new recipe from my Betty Crocker 300 Calorie Cookbook.  It's called Tortellini with Garden Vegetables. Here is the outcome:

I love tortellini. Just something about it being filled with cheese and being a little chewy yet oh so yummy!

Here's the 4 serving recipe:

1 pkg (9oz) cheese filled tortellini
1 box (9oz) broccoli cuts (or other frozen veggies)
2 1/3 Cups quartered cherry tomatoes
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
1 tablespoon grated parmesan
1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil or veggie oil
4 medium green onions, sliced
2 medium garlic cloves, finely chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

1.  Cook tortellini as directed on package, adding broccoli for the last 2 or 3 minutes of cook time; draining thoroughly.

2.  Add remaining ingredients except salt and pepper; toss. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

If you want more, just double or triple the recipe for however much you need.  Enjoy!

Before Picture

This is me in all of my gut busting glory.  To get a free T25 t-shirt, you have to stand at certain angles to show your before and after results. This is by far the most non-flattering position I could ever stand in.  After three children and no big effort in trying to stay fit, my stomach still appears to be 9 months with child.  I will post all of my measurements and weight in the next posting, and will continue to post weekly side by side pictures of my ever shrinking belly.

I CAN DO IT!!

I CAN DO IT!!

This is my favorite picture. I have it framed and in my office. It reminds me that no matter what my head or society is telling me... I Can Do It!  Anything! I can be an astronaut if I want to. I can sing on Broadway. I can be the best me ever! All I have to do is ignore the negative thought bubbles popping up from my head and apply myself.

I have never been one with patience. I want things right now, when I want them, where I can see them. So it's no wonder weight loss programs never work for me. I have tried Slim-Fast and lost 15lbs over the course of two months and quickly gained it all back. I have tried Weight Watchers, but counting points is not something for an impatient woman. I have even tried Atkins and lost 16lbs in two weeks!! Atkins made me feel like crap and I quickly gained it all back.

So what have I chose to do this time?  Good old fashioned healthy eating and exercise.  Yep, this impatient woman is going to have her patience tested big time!! However, it doesn't help that I have the hottest workout partner ever (Hey, I am partial to my husband)!! We started working out today to Shaun T's T25.  We have done Insanity before...and let me tell you, IT'S INSANE! I am so out of shape, but I could do it.  T25 was not nearly as insane. But since this girl has not exercised in several months...or years... T25 kicked my butt. But in a good way.

Now that you know my exercise routine, what am I going to eat? I have decided plain and simple is the way to go. No need to change up what I eat on a daily basis. For me, having a plan and sticking with is the best way to go.  For breakfast, I had 1 cup of Raisin Bran, 1/2 cup milk and a banana.  For lunch, I will have two slices of 45 calorie bread, three slices of turkey, two tomato slices, and 1/2 tbsp. of mayo and carrots as a side for crunch.  I will have one 100 calorie snack between meals. I will keep dinner to a 450 to 500 calorie minimum, which will consist of mainly a protein and veggies.

It all sounds good on paper. I just hope I can apply it to my daily life. As my picture says, I CAN DO IT! And I can. And I will.

But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
